Connect your email

Finding the right email and writing the reply both take time. Connect Gmail or Outlook, and Tatsu can search your mail and prepare drafts. Sending stays with you.

Step 1 of 5

Read, draft, send: what an inbox connection asks for

Any app that works in your inbox asks for some mix of three kinds of access: read (search and quote your mail), draft (put messages in your Drafts folder) and send (let mail leave your account). Before you connect anything, know which ones you grant, and who decides when mail goes out.

Tatsulok asks for all three, because your own Send button uses the send permission. Tatsu has no send action: only your “Send Email” button, or a send time you set, sends the email.

What Tatsu can do with your mail

  • Search your mail and read whole threads when you ask.
  • Write or revise a draft. A reply stays in its thread, and the draft shows in your Drafts folder.
  • Save attachments to your Library, where answers can cite them.
  • Archive, star and label Gmail. Google's consent screen lists this permission separately, and you can untick it.

What Tatsu cannot do

  • Send email. You press Send.
  • Delete your mail. Tatsu has no delete action for email.
  • Reach your Drive or calendar. Each one asks for its own permission.

How it fits with your Library, memory and apps

Save an attachment and it joins your Library, so later answers can cite it and open the exact line. Tell Tatsu how you sign off or which tone you use, and it remembers. You can see, edit or forget that in Settings, “Memory and instructions”. A receipt that arrives by email can become a row in an app you keep, such as an expenses app.

You stay in charge

  • You choose which accounts to connect, and whether to allow archive, star and label.
  • You can change any draft before it goes, or discard it.
  • You can disconnect at any time in “Extensions”. Drafts already in your Drafts folder stay yours, and any send time you set in Tatsulok is cancelled.

Privacy

  • Gmail: Tatsulok can read your mail so Tatsu can search and quote it, and create drafts. It sends only the drafts you choose to send. It archives, stars and labels only if you leave that permission ticked.
  • Outlook: Tatsulok can read and write your mail so Tatsu can search it and prepare drafts, and can send mail, which happens only when you send or schedule it.
  • Your mail is never used for advertising or to train models, and the model providers that answer your questions commit to no training and to keeping none of your content afterwards.
  • When Tatsu reads an email for you, it saves the names and addresses on it to your contacts, and notes the email's subject and date in each contact's history, not the message itself. Turn this off in Settings, Preferences, “Auto-save contacts from email”.
  • Disconnecting Google removes Tatsulok's access to that account, its Drive and Calendar included, and deletes the stored sign-in tokens. For Microsoft, also remove Tatsulok in your Microsoft account settings.

Questions

Can Tatsu send email from my Gmail without me?
No. Tatsu has no send action: only your “Send Email” button, or a send time you set, sends the email. When you share a Library item, any email notice comes from Tatsulok's own address, not your mailbox.
Why does Google say the app is unverified?
Google shows that screen until it finishes reviewing an app that asks for mail access, and Tatsulok's review is still running. Choose “Advanced”, then the link to continue to Tatsulok. Google's help page explains the screen.
Is my email used to train models?
No. Your mail is never used for advertising or to train models.
Can I connect more than one account?
Yes. Choose “Connect” next to “Mail” again. Each address gets its own row, and you can disconnect each one on its own.
How do I disconnect?
In “Extensions”, choose the disconnect button on the account's row, then “Disconnect”. Disconnecting a Google account also disconnects its Drive and Calendar and cancels any send time you set in Tatsulok. For Microsoft, also remove Tatsulok in your Microsoft account settings.
