What exactly makes this a 'library' and not just a chat tool?
A chat tool forgets your documents when the session ends. Tatsulok persists your documents across sessions, organizes them into collections by client or project, and gets smarter with every document you add. Your library is a compounding asset: the more you add, the more powerful every future query becomes.
Other AIs also search documents + web + scholar simultaneously. How is Tatsulok different?
Some AI tools can search web + documents + scholarly papers in one query. Tatsulok's actual difference: (1) your library is persistent and organized into collections, not a per-session file upload that vanishes; (2) Tatsulok cites the exact document, page, and paragraph, not just 'from your file'; (3) your library gets smarter over time as we ship new AI analysis features. It's a compounding asset, not a service.
Can I upload confidential client files?
Yes. Files in Cloudflare R2 are encrypted at rest with AES-256, and every connection is encrypted in transit with TLS. Your workspace is never sent to training datasets, and the model providers that answer your chat requests commit to no training and to keeping none of your content afterwards. Voice input, web search, document extraction and search reranking run under their own providers' terms, named on our Trust & Security page.
Can I try before I pay, and cancel anytime?
Yes. The Free plan lets you use Tatsulok with no card required, so you can evaluate it before upgrading. Paid plans can be cancelled anytime from Settings, you keep access until the end of your billing period, and you are never locked in. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Which AI models are included in paid plans?
Every plan runs on Tatsu. There is no model menu. Tatsu chooses the model, the effort, and recovery, and every chat request uses zero-data-retention routing. Paid plans include more Tatsu credits each month and a larger library.
Can my team share a library?
Team plans include shared collections with role-based access. One person can upload and organize; the whole team can query. Shared libraries are great for law firms, consulting teams, or research groups where everyone needs access to the same documents.
What file formats are supported?
PDFs (including scanned with OCR), Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, plain text, images (JPEG, PNG with content extracted), and more. Video and audio transcription is also supported for recorded interviews, depositions, or meeting recordings.
How is this different from NotebookLM or Perplexity?
NotebookLM is session-based. Your library doesn't persist. Perplexity is primarily a web search tool with some document capability. Tatsulok is purpose-built for persistent, organized knowledge libraries: you build it over time, it grows more powerful with every document, and every answer cites the exact source in your library.
